Carolina Underground Paintball Team Select PBC Rock Hill for Home Field

The Carolina Underground Paintball Team have decided on playing out of Paintball Central's Rock Hill Field as their home field in 2013.

After careful consideration, the team selected PBC Rock Hill over Palmetto Hills and Glory Road Paintball.

Carolina Underground Teams Disappointed With Showing At Glory Road, Look To Bounce Back

Overcoming a day full of adversity, both Carolina Underground teams rallied late, winning 3 of their final 6 points at Glory Road's 3-man tournament series opener. Frustration was the theme of the day for both teams, as 25 degree weather claimed 5 of 8 markers the teams had at their disposal, resulting in the teams sharing 3 markers for most of the day.

Once Carolina Underground resolved their gun problems - ostensibly by changing paint and Justin Lamb lending Mason his Ego - they won 2 of their final 4 points, after having two players go down in each of their first three points without so much as a single drop of paint on them due to marker malfunctions.

Carolina Underground Red had a much tougher day; however, they came together late in their final two points, winning their second-to-last point. One of their key players, Slade Saunders, was injured in a car accident last night, and while he braved the elements, his back injury limited his and his team's effectiveness greatly.

Ultimately, both teams will compete in CFOA's 5-man series in 2013, in division 5, as a combined unit. The final team roster will be announced shortly.

Carolina Underground To Field A Second 3-man Team @ Glory Road Tournament

The Carolina Underground Paintball Team will field a second 3-man team at tomorrow's inaugural 3-man Glory Road Paintball Series tournament in Monroe, NC.

The Carolina Underground squad was going to be made up of team captain Tom Mobley, Drake Craven and Jeff Payne. However, due to weather problems, Drake was a late scratch, and will be replaced by Mason.

The tournament will be played at Glory Road Paintball.

Paintball Practice Videos From Our First Team Practice

Tom Mobley, Carolina Underground's founder, organized the first team practice for the team through PBNation, on Sunday, January 6. The practice was attended by Cujo, Jeff Payne, Drake Craven, Mason and of course, Tom's better half, his wife Talina who manned the camera.

Gun problems aside, we were able to play our first points together as a group and held our own at Glory Road Paintball.

Carolina Underground Red Team To Play In Glory Road Paintball's 3-ManSeries Opener

The Carolina Underground Red Paintball Team will play in the inaugural Glory Road Paintball 3-man Series Tournament at Glory Road Paintball on Saturday, January 25th, in Monroe, NC.

Carolina Underground's 3-man team will be comprised of four players, Justin Lamb, Brenden Myers, Holden Hammer German and Slade Saunders, who may also play the CFOA series this year.

The GRP 3-man series was launched and announced this year by the Monroe, NC field in early January, which is also rumored to be hosting a CFOA 3-man event later in the year.

The Glory Road Paintball 3-man Series is an independent series that will be played under an Open Division format, with its own ranking system not tied to APPA rankings as of right now.

Carolina Underground Evaluating Home Field Options

The Carolina Underground Paintball Team is currently evaluating the options for a dedicated paintball field to call their home field.

Presently, the options include Glory Road Paintball, Palmetto Hills and Paintball Central Rock Hill.

Carolina Underground Team Formed

The Carolina Undground Paintball Team was started by Tom Mobley, and will begin playing officially in 2013 in the Carolina Field Owner's Association (CFOA) 5-man series. The team will compete in Division 4, or Division 5, pending the completion of the roster.

The Carolina Underground Paintball Team is based out of Charlotte, NC, and the official roster is to be announced in the near future. The team may also compete in the NCXL 7-man series in 2013 on a limited basis.

Additionally, a 3-man contingent may also compete in the Glory Road Paintball 3-man series that is being launched this year.
